White negative space on image crops

Love the auto-update feature, hate the required cropping.

It would be extremely useful to not have to crop my too-tall or too-wide image by being able to create an image that fills the negative space on the sides with white to meet Instagrams approved aspect ratios, and keep my entire image.

I run an account for an art gallery (@arcadiagallery) and regularly post full images of artworks where this would be constantly used.

As pro photographer I do not want my vertical Portraitshots cropped. It is pain to open each vertical photos in PSD and then add a frame, before exporting to JPEG . Please add this time saving feature!

Until this feature will be included, I developed an free OpenSource App which batch processes my images before uploaded: https://github.com/artifactdev/InstaCrop

Agreed!!! It's really one of the only things missing for me on the Later platform. So frustrating that IG forces this so I know it's not Later's fault, but shouldn't be a terribly hard thing to add to the image editing side of things.

I would also love to see this. I have to open 3 apps to achieve this very simple task right now.

I am a DOP - cropping my images as they were shot to suit the format of instagram is a nightmare. Loads of extra work if I have to do this manually. If you just add the option to fill the gap with white space in your crop tool section, it would save all this.
